Our Experience
Our country is in the midst of an enormous rise in the need for wound care. It is estimated that 5 million Americans suffer from chronic wounds today mostly attributed to secondary to diabetes. Currently there are over 17 million diabetics in the United States. A high percentage of these patients have non-healing wounds that require advanced wound care. Sadly, these wounds often lead to amputations that further debilitate those afflicted, complicating their health status even further. HBO treatment has a good success rate in healing these difficult wounds and ultimately avoiding amputations. Experts say about 15 percent of the elderly population suffers from chronic wounds, and the number of individuals 65 and older is expected to double over the next 30 years. The cost to the individual and the healthcare industry can be huge. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been proven successful in the treatment of these complex problem wounds, ultimately saving healthcare costs and, most importantly, improving a patient's quality of life.
Advanced Hyperbaric and Wound Care Services can deliver HBO therapy on-site to any qualified treatment facility. There is no capital outlay for equipment or staffing required from the hosting facility. Hyperbaric Oxygen Technologies provides a turn-key HBO operation, including equipment, personnel, education, and processes. In this arrangement, the facility has the opportunity to receive a volume of new patients and increased facility revenue.
Our vision is to provide Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to any qualified hospital, making this advanced treatment available to any physician who needs it for their patient. We want to provide our service to any healthcare system where it is not currently available. We want to make sure all hospitals, physicians and patients have an equal opportunity to receive the best in medical care and treatment.
The experience of our management team is almost unsurpassed in the Hyperbaric Medicine field. Together, Glenn Hermes and Dennis Kathcart have more than 60 years experience with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) and Wound Care in a wide variety of capacities. Both began their HBO experience in the military and carried that experience to the private sector where they were instrumental in the start-up and management of the first Hyperbaric Medicine outpatient setting in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
