Advanced Hyperbaric and Wound Care Services provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to patients at your healthcare facility where this innovative "standard of care" treatment modality is not immediately available.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a means of providing additional oxygen to the body tissues. This is done by placing the patient's entire body under increased atmospheric pressure in a closely monitored air-tight chamber. During HBOT, the patient breathes (and is surrounded by) 100% oxygen for a prescribed period of time.
The result of the increased pressure and oxygen concentration greatly increases the oxygen-carrying capacity of blood -- and in turn greatly improves the supply of life giving oxygen to the tissue.
